The picture above, in which she’s awkwardly hunched up and draped in diaphanous cloth, posed among more pale cloth, with the bow on the strings even though there’s no way she could play with her left arm and hand like that…

I actually played as part of a pickup pops orchestra for one of her shows… It was a mess. She was reputed to be able to play violin, piano, sing and dance, but none of those skills was better than mediocre (at least at this show – maybe she was having an off night?) and that’s being generous. One of the longest-seeming gigs of my life.
